WORLD HEPATITIS DAY

BETTER INFORMED. BETTER PROTECTED. HAPPY LIVING.

325 million people are living with it.9000,000 deaths, they are not just random numbers, but real tolls from the WHO. CORONA STATISTICS? – You may ask! No, they are not. A disease, still very prevalent in the society, CANCER- might be your next thought! NAH, not really! Something that deserves more attention, something that asks for more strength and something that is taking away many more lives in the recent times. Not just a single type is it in the lanes, 5 types have been recorded so far. An infection, an inflammation, a disease that requires just the same amount of willpower a cancer warrior would require surviving. The hero of our blog content today is HEPATITIS!

WHAT A COMMON MAN SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THIS EVIL?

Enjoying heavy booze at the late weekend party? Be thankful to your liver, located at the corner of the right hypochondrium, it is because of this KING that you enjoy every other thing that enters into your germ-filled mouth. Breakdown of every other nutrient is his prime function. A little extra of anything is harmful to any relationship! – As the saying goes, a little extra of your favorite booze can harm your relationship with the liver and may even be fatal. Just what the suffix –itis suggests, yes, Hepatitis is an inflammation. An inflammation of the liver! Though autoimmune has been one the major reasons, The middle aged being affected the most, 30-49 year olds, stay away from alcohol, since that is the most common agent leading to this evil disease. TYPES – A, B, C, D, E and who knows which another alphabet is going to be added to the list! What we need to worry, is not the clinical features, but when to consult a doctor? And more importantly, is there any way to stay away from it.

YELLOW AND RED – A PERFECT COMBINATION WITH A SIGNIFICANCE

As bright as the sunflower’s yellow, as thick as blood red! A favorite color combination among many has a bigger significance. Bilirubin is a yellow-colored pigment of our body – a by-product of the RBCs. When this is accumulated beyond the limits, you may notice yellowish hue in your eyes! – DON’T WORRY; sometimes it may be due to that extra spoon of carrot halwa. But not always! Nothing happens without a reason! The best-known symptom of this liver condition is JAUNDICE. Yes! That is exactly why yellow has been chosen to represent Hepatitis C. What is more horrifying is the fact that sometimes, the urine may even turn orange to red even before the liver fails. It may appear very dark in color. NEVER FORGET TO CHECK THE CLOSET BEFORE FLUSHING. Not just this, but many diseases can be easily predicted from your stool and urine color and odor. For this very reason, red has been put up here! Dark colored urine + Yellow hued vampire eyes, a definite sign of HEPATITIS C! Another sign would be white colored stools, which may be indicative of high Bilirubin level.

BE SAFE BEFORE YOU INDULGE IN AN ACT

Hepatitis can be spread by contact with infected body fluids such as blood, serum, semen and vaginal fluid. All types of Hepatitis are sexually transmissible. Safe sex is especially important for people diagnosed with hepatitis A, B or C, because these viruses can spread from person to person.Sexual partners of individuals with hepatitis B should consider vaccination to prevent acquiring infections.Hepatitis B immune globulin — which works like an antibody, quickly fighting infection — can also be given to a partner who has been exposed to your body fluids within two weeks after exposure to prevent infection.Hepatitis A resolves by itself. But hepatitis B or C, may have complications.

4 STEPS AND YOU ARE 400 TIMES AWAY FROM HEPATITIS

1Watch out before you indlge in any intercourse. Get yourself tested for Hepatitis.
2.Use a latex condom for any type of sex, and use a water-based lubricant to help
reduce the chance of the condom breaking.
3.Awareness about STDs spreading.
4.Avoid alcohol before intercourse since its consumption can impair judgement

TWO SIDES OF A COIN? NO. TWO SIDES OF A DRUG USE.

Maybe it's not just those habits that can lead us to hepatitis, but it could be because of a few drugs too! Too habitual of taking a paracetamol each time you suffer a stress headache? Be careful dear mate, the drug has greater liver damaging capacity. No wonder that each doctor pleads us to consult them before taking any type of self-education. We have all developed by intellectual knowledge, but has that helped us develop really? NO. We are all driven up by both goods and bads. The same happens here too. Drugs, can not just cure you, but drive you to another disease too. One another group are the antidepressants. How helpful have they been during this COVID-19 PANDEMIC!? But, your liver is pleading to get rid of them. Hepatocytes are dying, some growing in size. Remember, your mental health is under your control but not your physical. So, keep yourself stress free and live your life!

A LION IS NO FIGHTER OR SURVIVOR, IT'S A WARRIOR!

What guts it takes to digest the fact that one is being diagnosed with Hep is just unimaginable! Right from the moment the doctor draws blood for the test, till the reports are handed over, your breathe seems breathless. Just like any other disease, what requires most is SELF-CONFIDENCE and Just NIL PEER PRESSURE. Disappointments have no time and tide to wait for! They can come in all forms and shapes. It is completely okay and normal to cry out loud in the mid of the clinical trial. But, what is more important is those deep breathe afterwards which is going to heal all your pain. No one here is ready to hear the nasty words of the doctor which sounds “Sorry, the treatment is not working!” right? So, what it takes more than the right medication is self-love and confidence to win the battle. Not always will this help, but this is never going to deceive you like your bad friend.  Turn off your disappoint notifications down dear warriors, your smile is going to kill everyone around. WIN AND RISE UP! We are here to see you speak the next words.

A TRIBUTE TO ALL THE WARRIORS FIGHTING TO SMILE FOREVER
