✓ With limited data, we confirm that India has started producing 2.06 lakh PPE kits everyday. India continues to fight to sail through this pandemic successfully by tapping every kind of potential it has, ranging from knowledge of traditional medicine to the manpower in the textile industry.
✓ India skyrockets the production of PPE kits from 47,000 per year to 2.06 lakh a day, and now it is at the rate of 4.2 lakh per day.
✓ With the challenge of unavailability of sufficient amount of PPE kits waiting at its doorstep, India was pushed to a point where it had to commence the indigenous production of the protective garments.
✓Mr. Ajith Chavan, Secretary, Textiles Committee said that the manufacturers and the Union Government have been taking several steps to ensure that both quality and quantity of PPE would do justice to the demands of the nations. .
✓ Reports confirm that Bengaluru has become the hub of PPE kits manufacture. Several private textiles have stepped into the production. The Ministry of Defense has also patented low cost PPE developed by the Indian Navy.
