BOARD EXAMINATION

         

 On account of the ongoing pandemic of COVID 19 the TN Govt had decided to begin the exams on June 15 and finally  the exam has been cancelled on 9 th of June. Do u think this announcement by the honourable CM will benefit the students or be a hurdle ? Lets see. This announcement by our honourable chief minister is more suitable for the present pathetic condition of our state. More than 9 lakh students have to sit for the exam amidst the dreadful pandemic.

    Exams are just a testing tool for a student. Knowledge is more important than the exams. Knowledge cannot be gained by answering one single paper. They are not the real test. They measure only the superficial knowledge of a student. Students with less marks may end up leading a successful life. Of course knowledge is gained by hardwork. Hardwork is the chief entity put by our students for the preparations of exams. Did their  hard work just failed by promoting all of them?



    This pandemic has been teaching us more life lessons than the textbooks.To be honest life is much more important than the knowledge we gained from the textbook .Nowadays, our main focus is to gain a good amount of knowledge and pursue a career to lead a happy life. Teachers should not pressurize students to read textbooks alone to score marks. They should assess their individual skills and knowledge. If they do so there is no stress at all. Exam stress is a part of the education system but it should be positive. Many of them are stressed and demotivated about the current pandemic situation. Hence they can't concentrate on their studies. This decision by the Govt will help them adapt to the current situation.


           Our government  is more concerned about the poor, which is depicted in the announcement. Students whose families lie the below poverty  line, those who are lacking their basic needs and those whose economic status went down due to lockdown will be depressed and there will not be sufficient care and concentration towards studies.Moreover,life is more important  than studies. Around 35,000 lives are in danger zone due to COVID 19 .Do we need exams in this pathetic condition?

 Likewise this announcement is agreeable for some students. Whereas terrible for some others, cancelling these exams can never be a boon to those students who are on serious preparations. TN Govt decided to promote them based on their pre board exams. According to our educational system, the public exams( annual) are more valuable than the half early and quarter early exams which provokes the students to concentrate more on public exams rather in the other ones.

            Those students who are interested to continue their studies into medical field , from recent past NEET( National Eligibility Cum Entrance test) is a necessity for which grade X syllabus is the basic. In case of cancelling the public exam the students may lack their basics for upcoming grades and finally many loose their lives. Since all the students are promoted according to their attendance percentage and half early exam marks ,the seat allotment in colleges become fishy . The ratio of students will be high compared to the number of seats available in colleges.

              Most of the students are under Corona lock down. They don't spend much of their time on studies. Indeed some students don't even care about exams.. This makes the situation even worse as they can't adapt once the school reopens. As the number of Corona cases are hiking up day by day  our government being pragmatic must have foreseen all these conditions and they would have postponed the exam dates until relief from corona.
